JK Gross Motor Screening

Your child may not be able to do some of the activities listed in this section of the booklet. This is not always a cause for concern.

It may be that a child has not learned to do some of those activities (e.g., somersaults), but it does not necessarily mean that he/she is not capable of doing them.

Gross Motor Screening

Gross Motor Skills (Large Muscles) May Include: 

  • Walking up and down stairs using alternating feet
  • Jumping
  • Bouncing a ball
  • Throwing and catching a ball
  • Hopping on one foot
