![]() | Hearing screenings are scheduled twice a year at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. Other community sites are scheduled throughout the year. Childhood illness, recurring ear infections, and all manner of accidents can result in hearing loss which is often difficult for parents to detect. All children should have their hearing screened before they enter school. Screenings are performed by community audiologists and speech/language pathologists on a voluntary basis. |

- Poor speech and language development
