How We Screen
![]() | At the time of screening, parents are asked questions about their child's speech and language as well as other areas of development. A variety of tasks are presented to the child depending on their age. The tasks are based on the DPS (Developmental Preschool Screen) section of the DISC (Developmental Inventory for Screening Children), a screening tool developed in Ontario. Parents are present for the screening and results are shared with parents at the time. Screeners are professionals with a background in child development. They know how to make screening fun for kids. The screening usually takes about 30 minutes. |
